– To reduce the risk of serious injury:
• Provide a clear path for operation of the back and legrest. Place tables and area rugs
at a distance to allow the legrest to fully extend without rubbing or interference.
WARNING
7. Adjustable glides are standard on units with metal base rails. Adjust the glides to a height that
provides an unobstructed path for operation of the legrest (see
Furniture Placement Guide
).
•
Each glide is attached to the base rail by one jam nut and one lock washer on top of the front
attachment bracket, and one jam nut on the bottom of the base rail (F
IGURE
7, Motion-Modular
unit featured). Loosen the jam nut located on top of the front attachment bracket.
•
Holding the top jam nut, turn the glide clockwise to lower the unit or counterclockwise
to raise the unit.
•
Tighten the bottom jam nut to the base rail, then tighten the top jam nut to the lock washer on top
of the front attachment bracket. Make sure both jam nuts are tight to prevent the bracket from
rotating on the base rail.
•
Repeat this step for each adjustable glide, if necessary.
8. Identify the electrical components to be used in the following assembly steps (F
IGURE
8). Components
vary by style; units with lighted cup holders have additional connections.
9. Locate the motor connector behind the power motion-modular unit (F
IGURE
9). If assembling a unit
with a lighted cup holder proceed to step 12
10. Connect the power supply to the motor connector (F
IGURE
10).
11. Connect the 120 volt power cord to the power supply (F
IGURE
11). Do not plug in until instructed
in the
Operating Instructions
. Proceed to step 15 for units without lighted cup holders.
12. Connect the small Y-cable to the motor connector and lighted cup holder connector behind the
power motion-modular unit (F
IGURE
12).
13. Connect the power supply to the small Y-cable (F
IGURE
13).
14. Connect the 120 volt power cord to the power supply (F
IGURE
14). Do not plug in until
instructed in the
Operating Instructions
.
15. To remove the backs, unplug the 120 volt power cord from the electrical outlet and disconnect
the power supply from the motor connector behind the power motion-modular unit.
Reverse the
Assembly Instructions
steps.
