Exhaust System Service (See Figs. 51-54)
■ Remove the upper and lower covers.
■ Remove the 3 screws to remove the muffler (Fig. 51 & 52).
■ Appropriate protective equipment is required when removing the muffler (Fig. 53).
■ The cylinder fins and housings should be checked periodically and cleaned to help prevent the
engine from overheating. Check the cylinder exhaust, piston, and piston ring for carbon build up.
NOTE: Do not allow the carbon deposit to fall into the cylinder when removing the buildup (Fig. 54).
