Engine oil
The oil level should be checked when the motorcycle is standing
on an even surface and in upright position. The engine’s oil tank is
located under the seat. The seat is removed to access the oil fi ller
(cf. fi g. 10 in section “Operation”).
The oil level will vary with temperature, so it should be checked
when the oil is cool. The tank cap includes a temperature gauge
and a dipstick. Remove the tank cap and dry the dipstick with a
clean cloth. The tank cap is replaced and must be pressed all the
way to the bottom to provide an accurate measurement of oil
level. The tank cap is removed and the oil level can now be read.
If the oil level is below the minimum (see fi g. 18), oil should be
topped off a little bit at a time until the oil is above the minimum
level (see section “Specifi cations for oil type”). The oil must not
be more than 1 cm over the minimum. Replace the tank cap.

Gearbox oil
The oil level in the gearbox should be checked while the motor-
cycle is upright on a level surface. The cap is located on the
right side of the motorcycle (see page 4). Unscrew the cap
using a 1/4” Allen wrench and dry the dipstick with a clean cloth.
Screw the cap on and then off again to check that the oil level
is between the two marks on the dipstick (see fi g. 19). Add gear
oil if necessary (See section “Specifi cations for oil type”).
**
Caution
** To prevent the motorcycle from falling over,
it should be held and supported in a stable, upright
position on a solid, level foundation while the oil level is
being checked.
