3.8. Adjustments.
Three adjustment points are accessible in the electronic cassette:
1 -amplification of the microphone signal (potentiometer P2)
2 -amplification of the loudspeaker signal (potentiometer P3)
3 -line balance (potentiometer P1)
The door phone system is supplied factory adjusted but in some cases the system
parameters may require to be adjusted with specific conditions of operation. To
adjust the line balance, call to an uniphone which is connected at approximately
half length of the line. Then adjust the balance
potentiometer so as to get a point for which susceptibility to excitation is the least.
Proceed as follows:
1 . Set the talking circuit volume potentiometers (P2,P3) to positions ensuring
audibility.
2. Adjusting the P1 potentiometer in one direction find a point at which excitation
occurs. Then find the second excitation point adjusting the P1 potentiometers in
opposite direction.
3. Set the P1 potentiometer to central position between the found excitation points.
4. Increase volumes of P2 and P3 talking circuits slightly.
5. Repeat steps 2, 3, 4 until optimum position pf the P1 potentiometer is found,
at which, with maximum settings of volume in both talking circuits, even slight rotation
of the P1 potentiometer causes excitation. Having these steps completed the talking
circuits volumes can be set to required levels. Remember that amplification factors
of the talking circuits should not be too high as excitation effect can occur in uniphones
due to spread of amplification levels of the uniphone microphones. In this case
decrease the microphone amplification level in the uniphone involved, using the
uniphone potentiometer. Recommended procedure for setting volumes is as follows:
-amplification of up circuit (the cassette microphone): set P2 to minimum value
ensuring sufficient audibility in the uniphone earphone;
-amplification of down circuit (the cassette loudspeaker): set P3 to maximum
volume (up to excitation threshold) and then decrease the setting by 20-30 degree.
3.9. Additional notes.
One of the features of the CD-2000 system is that parameters of its operation are
programable. During programming individual digital codes of flats can be changed
and basic operation times (unlocking time, ring time) can be set. The door phone
system functions have been also extended with possibility of disconnection of
individual uniphones or group of uniphones from the system. All settings are
entered from the standard keypad.
