Hydraulic Lift Cylinder With Stroke Control Spacers

Refer to Figure 1-15 on page 19:

Remove stroke control spacers (#2) from center
hydraulic cylinder (#3) and lower cutter until front
skids are resting on the ground. Replace stroke
control spacers as needed to support wheels at this
position.

With tractor gear selector in park or park brake set,
shut tractor engine off and remove switch key. Move
cylinder lift levers back and forth to release hydraulic
line pressure.

Remove parking jack (#3) from left-hand wing deck
and attach to cutter hitch. Secure parking jack in
place with attached jack pin (#8).

Unhook driveline safety chains (#6) and hitch safety
chain (#4) from the tractor.

10. Pull back on driveline yoke locking collar and pull
driveline (#5) from tractor PTO shaft.
11. Collapse driveline (#5) by pushing tractor end of
driveline towards the cutter gearbox.
12. Store yoke end of driveline (#5) on the cutter hitch or
on a support block. Do not store yoke end in the dirt.
13. Adjust parking jack up or down as needed and
remove connecting pin/bolt (#1) from cutter hitch.
14. Restart tractor and drive tractor slowly forward
several feet.
15. Place tractor gear selector in park or set park brake.
Shut engine off and remove switch key before
dismounting tractor.
16. Lower parking jack until cutter is resting on its front
skid shoes.
17. Replace connecting pin/bolt (#1) to the cutter as
follows:
a. If unhooking from standard clevis or double clevis
hitch, replace connecting pin/bolt to cutter hitch.
b. If unhooking swivel clevis or bar-tite hitch, remove
hitch components from tractor tongue and
reattach to cutter hitch with connecting bolt.
