Safety First
WARNING
!
To avoid serious injury or death:
•
Do not allow anyone to go near the blade while grading and
operating the controls. A person can be crushed by the unit.
•
Avoid injury from a falling blade. Always check to make
sure all hardware is secured before adjusting the blade.
•
Never fully extend or retract hydraulic cylinder(s) without
first checking to make sure the implement does not make
contact with tractor tires. Extending implement into the
tractor tires can result in loss of control and damage to the
Blade Pitch
Blade pitch can be adjusted by lengthening or shortening
the tractor’s top center 3-Point link. Increasing blade pitch
will increase the blades digging ability.
Lengthen the center link to increase blade pitch when
grading while traveling forward. Shorten the center link to
decrease blade pitch.
The opposite is true if backfilling. Shorten center link to
increase blade pitch and lengthen center link to decrease
blade pitch. To help protect the 3-Way Rear Blade from
damage while backfilling, lengthen the tractor’s center
top link until the blade will move across the top of the
ground without forcing itself into the soil.
Blade Angle and Reversing
Refer to Figure 1-3 on page 10:
Adjust blade angle with angling cylinder by as much as
45 degrees clockwise and counterclockwise. Operate
tractor control lever to change blade angle. The blade
may also be rotated 180 degrees.
1.
Read and follow
offsetting the blade.
2. Disconnect angle cylinder from blade turntable lug.
3. Rotate 3-Way Rear Blade clockwise 180 degrees.
4. Reconnect angle cylinder to turntable lug.
IMPORTANT:
The implement must be hitched to a
tractor and raised off the ground several inches to
make the following adjustments.
IMPORTANT:
Make sure angle cylinder is installed
correctly before using the blade. If not, the blade
and/or angle cylinder can be damaged.
Blade Offset
Refer to Figure 1-2 on page 9:
The blade can be offset hydraulically by as much as 55"
to the right or left with the offset cylinder.
1.
Read and follow
offsetting the blade.
2. Operate tractor control lever to change frame offset
by as much as 55" right or left.
Blade Tilt
Refer to Figure 1-4 on page 11:
The blade end can be tilted hydraulically with the tilt
cylinder by as much as 15 degrees.
1.
Read and follow
tilting the blade.
2. Operate tractor control lever to change blade tilt by as
much as 15 degrees.
Gauge Wheel
Refer to Figure 2-1 on page 14:
The gauge wheel provides accurate depth control when
grading, leveling, or terracing. The height of the gauge
wheel is determined by adjusting the hydraulic cylinder.
Operate tractor control lever to change gauge wheel
height up or down.
1.
Read and follow
tilting the blade.
2. If gauge wheel cylinder is attached to the selector
valve, make certain the valve lever is set to operate
that cylinder.
3. Operate tractor control lever to change gauge wheel
height up or down.
