Single Tailwheel Assembly
Refer to Figure 1-8:
1.
Slide adjustment plate (#1) onto tailwheel beam (#2).
2.
See important note above. Attach tailwheel
beam (#2) to the deck with 5/8"-11 x 3 3/4" GR5 cap
screw (#6), flat washer (#9), and locknut (#7). Draw
locknut up snug, do not tighten.
3.
Assemble adjusting brackets (#3 & #4) to the deck
rear with four 1/2"-13 x 1 1/2" GR5 carriage bolts
(#5), and hex flange locknuts (#8). Draw locknuts up
snug, do not tighten at this time.
4.
Install two machine washers (#10) onto spindle (#12)
and insert spindle into tailwheel beam (#2). Slide
3rd machine washer (#10) onto spindle and secure
with roll pin (#11).
5.
Attach tailwheel adjustment plate (#1), to adjusting
brackets (#3 & #4) with two 1/2" -13 x 1 1/2" GR5
carriage bolts (#5), and hex flange locknuts (#8).
6.
Tighten all six locknuts (#8) to the correct torque.
7.
Final tailwheel height adjustment will be made later.

IMPORTANT: The tailwheel arm must be located in
the rear mounting holes of the deck channel when
rear chainguards are included and front mounting
holes when rear chainguards are not included.

Dual Tailwheel Assembly
Refer to Figure 1-9:
1.
Attach left-hand tailwheel bracket (#2) to the deck
top with 1/2"-13 x 1 1/2" GR5 cap screws (#6),
flat washers (#11) and hex flange locknuts (#10).
Tighten locknuts (#10) to the correct torque.
2.
See important note above. Attach tailwheel
beam (#1) to tailwheel mounting bracket (#2) with
5/8" -11 x 3 3/4" hex head cap screw (#8), flat
washer (#12), and locknut (#9).
3.
Attach left-hand inner adjusting bracket (#3) to the
deck rear with two 1/2"-13 x 1 1/2" GR5 carriage
bolts (#7) and hex flange locknuts (#10). Draw
locknuts up snug, do not tighten at this time.
4.
Attach left-hand outer adjusting bracket (#4) to the
deck rear with two 1/2"-13 x 1 1/2" GR5 carriage
bolts (#7) and hex flange locknuts (#10). Draw
locknuts up snug, do not tighten at this time.
5.
Install two machine washers (#13) onto spindle (#15)
and insert spindle into tailwheel beam (#1). Slide
3rd machine washer (#13) onto spindle and secure
with roll pin (#14).
6.
Install one 1/2" -13 x 3 1/2" GR5 cap screws (#5) in
adjusting brackets (#3 & #4) just below tailwheel
beam (#1) and a second cap screw (#5) just above
the beam. Secure cap screws with hex flange
locknuts (#10). Draw locknuts up snug.
7.
Tighten all six locknuts (#10) to the correct torque.
8.
Repeat steps 1 thru 7 for the right-hand tailwheel.
9.
Final tailwheel height adjustment will be made later.
