8.1
Fault Finding and Troubleshooting
Check the functions as described in chapter
Increasing Temperature
Take care that the maximum valid temperature is not exceeded on site.If expecting higher
temperatures suitable cooling measures must be provided. Note that the sensor’s housing
does not heat up above this value even by radiation heating from the boiler.
Especially heat accumulation after switching OFF the burner must be avoided.
NOTICE
Excessive heat leads to a loss of sensitivity or is damaging the sensor element and finaly
leads to a black-out.
NOTICE
In the case of exceeding temperature at a restart of the burner, detecting the flame may be
difficult. In this case yo must not increase the sensitivity of the flame sensor at once. You must
wait until the sensor has cooled down.
8.1.1
Faults During Ignition
Faults occurring during operation may have 2 sources:
1. Main flame is not recognised sufficiently
•
Check the flame scanner’s sight opening for soiling.
•
Check whether the main flame burns stably. It is visible by the flame scanner in the whole
operating radius.
•
Check whether there is enough of the mane flame in the visual window of the flame scan-
ner.
•
Measure the flame radiation which is detected by the flame scanner, if necessary change
the adjustment, immersion depth in burner tip inclusively.
2. Radiated interference avoid a stable detection
•
The red LED switches OFF and the green LED switches ON. Though the green LED does
not change its brightness in a 3-second intervals. A common-mode interference is pending
(the signal is pending on both evaluation channels simultaneously).Focus is on radiation
of the pilot transformer and its connected cables inclusively).
–
Check if the shielding is connected correctly.
–
Ignition transformer grounded properly
–
Check the laying of the cables and if necessary disentangle/separate
8.1.2
Faults after assembly
If problems occur after installation, the cause may be an equipment-related ripple voltage.
This may be remedied by connecting the device ground to ground potential.
