SELECTING THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE
Check each garment label for the required ironing temperature. Start by ironing at low temperature,
working up to those garments that require more heat. If you’re unsure about a garment, test the
temperature by ironing an inconspicuous area. Silk, wool and synthetic fabrics are best ironed on
the reverse, to prevent shine. Using the spray button may stain these fabrics.
TROUBLE-SHOOTING OF THE STEAM IRON
The following are some common problems that can occur when using the Easy Fill Iron. Please
review the problems, their possible cause and any corrective action that should be taken.
Problem Possible Cause Solution
The iron is plugged in but the
soleplate is cold. Socket doesn’t work. Try the plug in another
socket.
There is a connection
problem. Check if the plug is connected
to the wall socket properly.
The temperature setting has
been set to MIN. Set the temperature setting to
the required temperature.
No steam is coming out of
the iron. There may not be enough
water in the water tank. Fill the water tank, see ‘filling
the water tank’.
Steam dial is in Steam Off
position. Turn the steam control dial to
steam ON position.
The Steam Shot is not
working. There may not be enough
water in the water tank. Fill the water tank, see ‘filling
the water tank’.
You are using the steam shot
for the first time. Press the steam shot a few
times until the steam burst
comes out.
The Spray button is not
working. There may not be enough
water in the water tank. Fill the water tank, see ‘filling
the water tank’.
You are using the spray
button for the first time. Press the spray button a few
times until the spray mist
comes out.
The soleplate is not hot
enough. Incorrect temperature setting. Turn the temperature dial to
the required setting.
Water is leaking from the
soleplate. Steam Iron is not hot enough
to produce the steam. Set temperature dial to •••
or to Max setting.
Steam control dial is in ‘ON’
position while refilling the
water tank. Turn the steam control dial
to steam off position before
refilling the water tank.
The iron is damaging the
fabric. The iron is on a too high
setting for the fabric. Follow the care label or test
on the inside of the hem of
the garment.
Flakes and impurities come
out from the soleplate during
ironing. Hard water has caused
limescale to develop inside
the soleplate. Follow the instructions in ‘self
cleaning your iron’.
