Adjusting Arm Chain Tension and Gripper
Position

Proper chain tension is essential for smooth operation of the Versa Hand™ arm on A

UTOMIZER

™

vehicles.

To adjust chain tension of the Versa Hand arm, apply the following procedure:

Lower the gripper to its lowest position.

With your bare hands, pull each of the two chains at mid-height section of the mast, close to the 2
bolts circled in Figure 10-10.

Figure 10-10 Testing height on the mast

This step allows to determine if the tension on both chains is well adjusted. The force applied on
each chain (approx. 50

lb-ft) should move it forward and create a gap of 1/2” to 1

1/2”

between

the chain and the mast surface (see Figure 10-11).

When performing the following procedure, always lock out and tag out the vehicle in
order to work in a secure environment (see
