RESTARTING THE ENGINE.

1.14.11 PUMP INSPECTION

The hydraulic pump (Figure #1.95) is
powered by the truck’s engine through a
drive shaft. On a daily basis, the pump
should be visually inspected. Follow this
procedure.

PUMP INSPECTION PROCEDURE

Ensure that the parking brake is
applied and the vehicle is tagged
out for maintenance purposes
(refer to

section 1.5

“lockout/

tagout procedure”).

Start the engine, engage the
hydraulic pump.

The pump should turn freely
without any excessive noise or
vibrations.

Open the cab grille (if necessary).

Inspect the pump (under) and
connections for any oil leak.

If an electrical problem occurs with
the pump, refer to

section 3.3

“Troubleshooting guide.
