To see if the valve is stuck open, shut off the
filter pump and remove the flow control cap. Make a
visual inspection of the disc. If it is not properly
seated, disassemble the valve and overhaul it (see Fig.
37). If parts are pitted due to corrosion by excessive
acid or chlorine in the pool water, they should be
replaced (see Section 6, Parts List).
SECTION 5.
Assembly Instructions
5A. Reversible Water Connections
Waterpik Technologies ships the heater with the
water connections on the right side. It could be
necessary, or helpful, to switch the connections to the
left side to make the installation easier and improve
access for service.
To make this change, a trained service techni-
cian should reverse the heat exchanger before begin-
ning the installation. Follow these step-by-step
instructions and illustrations.
1.
Remove the flue cap or draft hood (indoor) from
the top of the heater.
2.
Remove the hex-head screws (see Fig. 38) and
lift the top assembly straight up.
3.
Remove the screw securing the rainshield at the
rear of the heater and set it aside.
4.
Lift off the rainshield and set it aside.

5.
Remove the five screws securing the gap closures
and put them aside.
6.
Remove the transition plate from the top of the
flue collector.
7.
Remove both heat exchanger end baffles from
inside the flue collector (models 125, 175 & 250
only) (see Fig. 38).
8.
Remove the screws securing the two flue collector
hold down clamps and remove the clamps (see Fig.
39). Replace these clamps after reversing the heat
exchanger.
9.
Remove the flue collector assembly by lifting it
out of the heater.
10.
Remove the three grommets and the button plug
(see Fig. 38).
11.
Remove the three drain plugs (see Fig. 38). One is
located under the water connections on the right
side. The other two are on the left side of the
heater.
12.
Remove the front door of the heater.
13.
Label the white wire on the pressure switch PS
and the white wire at the upper terminal of the
terminal block TB (see Fig. 40).
14.
Disconnect the white wire from the pressure
switch, and the white wire at the terminal block.
