9-4 Communication protocol
9.4.1 Query Commands
Query commands ask the instrument about a specific status; it responds
back with a message containing the requested information.
Query commands contain a
? character in the command string.
Command Description Example
?BAT
Battery voltage query command.
The reply gives back the voltage in V of
the battery
Example: #H1?BAT*
Reply: 3.99
?DCE
Field values at the output of the filter
(3dB@1Hz). This command is valid only
in DCE mode, see #H1SDCE* related
section. The reply is in the format:
DCE vx;px;X;vy;py;Y; vz;pz;Z;vt;T;u;n;
where
vx is the field on the x -axis (similar for y, z
axis and total field)
px is the field polarity for x -axis (similar
for y, z axis and total field.
u is the measurement unit
n is a measurement index that spans from
0 to 31. Same index values means that no
measurements have been performed
meanwhile.
+ means an over-range has occurred.

?FLD f
Verbose field query command. The
command must specify the frequency f at
which the field has to be evaluated. The
reply is in the format:
FLD (fHz) [u] x=a, y=b, z=c, tot=d
where:
f is the frequency in Hz at which the field
has been measured
u is the measurement unit
a is the field on the x-axis
b is the field on the y-axis
c is the field on the z-axis
d is the total field
(d=sqrt[a^2+b^2+c^])
With static field measurements (f=0.0Hz),
indication of field polarity (S or N) is given
for the three axis x, y, and z.
An error is returned when f is higher than
the span.
+ means an over-range has occurred.
