mTenna Plus and mTenna Select Installation Guide
4.3.2 Connect the cables

Ensure all the components are powered off prior to connecting the cables.

Read the instructions below carefully as damage to the mTenna Plus, mTenna Select, or modem may occur from
improperly seated or routed cables.
Install ODU cabling to mTenna Plus and mTenna Select
1.
Connect the ODU RX cable to the RX In port on the back of the mTenna Plus and finger tighten.
2.
Connect the ODU TX cable to the TX Out port on the back of the mTenna Select and finger tighten.

Ensure connections for each ASM are consistent:
- ASM 1 connects to RX1 on mTenna Plus and TX1 on mTenna Select
- ASM 2 connects to RX2 on mTenna Plus and TX2 on mTenna Select, etc.
3.
Connect an Ethernet cable to the mTenna I/O and a port on the network switch.
4.
Connect the power cable to the mTenna I/O and plug into the power strip.
5.
Repeat the above steps for each ASM being installed.
Install mTenna Plus and mTenna Select cables
1.
Connect an Ethernet cable to the modem LAN port on the mTenna Plus and into the administrative port on the
modem, as specified by the modem options file.
2.
Connect an Ethernet cable to the mTenna LAN port on the mTenna Plus and into a port on the network switch.
3.
Connect the mTenna Select shielded Ethernet cable to the mTenna Select port on the mTenna Plus and into the
mTenna Plus port on the mTenna Select.

Power is carried on the mTenna Select cable. If an improper, unshielded cable is installed or the cable is
installed incorrectly, damage may occur. Damage to the modem or other devices can occur if plugged into the
mTenna Select port.
4.
Connect an RF cable to the RX Out port on the mTenna Plus and into the RX1 port on the modem.
5.
Connect an RF cable to the TX In port on the mTenna Select and into the TX Out port on the modem.
6.
Connect the power cable to the mTenna Plus and plug into the power strip.

Do NOT disconnect Ethernet cable while operating. If disconnected, reconnect and reboot the system.
