mTenna Plus and mTenna Select Installation Guide
11 Set mTenna Plus reboot time
Prior to commissioning, adjust the mTenna Plus reboot time as described below.
The mTenna Plus system automatically reboots every 24 hours. The default configuration reboots the system at 10:03
UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), but you may configure the time and day of the reboot by modifying the default
crontab file.
✎
Set the mTenna Plus 24-hour reboot for three minutes after the ASM reboot time.
To change the reboot time, run the following command at the mTenna Plus terminal to modify the default crontab entry:
$ crontab –e
Executing this command opens a vim text editor session with the current crontab file loaded. For help with editing or
saving the crontab file, refer to the
for the relevant commands.
A crontab file has five fields for specifying the date and time followed by the command to be run at that interval. Modify
the first field to change the minute (0 – 59), and modify the second field to change the hour (0 – 23). All date and time
values in the crontab file are in UTC. You may change the reboot timing of the mTenna Plus to run on specified days of
the week by adding a value (or values, separated by a comma without any spaces) to the fifth field "weekday." A 0
corresponds to Sunday, and 1 corresponds to Monday. Lengthening the reboot time beyond once per 24-hours may
result in unexpected behavior of the mTenna Plus that could inhibit operations and result in link downtime.
Save the crontab file and exit the vim editor session. The new reboot time is active immediately but will not persist after a
system reboot unless the following command is executed:
$ cron-save.sh
kymeta: User crontab configuration saved
This step ensures that the modified reboot time persists after a system reboot.
