Unpacking and checking your Kymera
you’re finished, or the next ride will be a short one!
When re-installing the drain plug, do so carefully and don’t over =ghten it, or you may strip the thread.
If you have used the board in salt water and are concerned that there may be some salt build up inside the board, you may wish to
purchase a product like “salt-away” to dissolve the salt.
Do not use a home remedy like vinegar or detergent to clean the board or dissolve salt. They may cause damage to components of the
board.
Ensure you grease the board aber a really thorough clean, as the cleaning process may take some of the grease with it.

If at any =me while riding there is a loss of power, remain calm and move from the prone to seated posi=on on the board to improve your
visibility on the water. Look around you to ensure that you are in a safe place. If not, paddle to a safe place. Once safe and seated, open
the front hatch of the board and check the posi=on of the baFery power switch. This switch also serves as the system breaker. Should the
system become over taxed, this switch will automa=cally flip to off to protect the system. Reset the breaker by opening and re closing. In
some cases it may require a few minutes before it will reset. Once reset you will again hear the ac=va=on beeps and the board should be
ready to use. Proceed with cau=on and SLOWLY return to a safe loca=on on shore. Once there, power down the system, remove the
baFery and verify the pump is clear of obstruc=on. Once confirmed clear, with the baFery s=ll removed, remove the rear hatch and
manually turn the motor / shab to ensure it turns freely.
Take care when accessing the front hatch to prevent water entry
Always remove the baFery prior to opening the rear hatch
If at any =me during opera=on there is a noise or reduc=on of power that seems out of place, reduce power and return to the nearest safe
shore loca=on.
When in doubt power the board off and wait 10 seconds, power it back on and proceed slowly to shore if possible un=l the problem has been
diagnosed.
In all cases, ensure that the problem is diagnosed and resolved before conTnuing to use your Kymera.
