The 990-HQ Process Summary
The
990-HQ
machines hinge pockets on both a door and a jamb and then attaches hinges to them.
While the hinge process takes place a door lock and face plate is drilled.

Feeding the door to the
990-HQ
is an
ON-12HQ c
onfigured as a feeder. Some key assemblies on the
990-HQ.
• Cut a hinge pocket on a door and jamb (Carriage Assembly).
• Drill pilot holes for the hinge screws (Carriage Assembly).
• Apply hinges (8 Shooter).
• Attach the hinges with screws (8 Shooter).
• Cut a lock and lock plate (Back Section).
Note:
Along with automatic control, manual control functions can be implemented. The machine
also accommodates mixed stacks and automatic door positioning with a two-speed feed belt sys-
tem.
Machine Orientation
The
Front Section
refers to the side of the machine with the operator’s station, and includes the
three Eight-Shooter heads, the front router motors, the pre-drills and chisels.
The
Back Section
refers to side of the machine that routs the faceplate, bores the lock, and drills
for the bolt.
In-Feed:
The end of the machine (and its respective parts) that receives incoming doors.
Typical Production Line Layout
The
990-HQ
can be paired with different feeder and stacker model numbers. This manual assumes
the
ON-12HQ
as a feeder. The feeder is addressed in a separate manual.
