3.8.2 "USB" Port, "X4" (Touch Screen Info Output)
The touch screen information is output to USB port "USB", type B. To prop-
erly process the input signals on the screen, attach the outlet with one of the
controller PC's USB ports.

If no other action is taken, the cable should be no longer than 5 m. Install an
active or passive repeater to extend the USB cable to up to 30 m.

12-bit resolution. The driver is installed in KUHNKE IPCs as delivered.

3.8.3 "USB 1/2" Ports, "X5"
The USB host adapter "USB" (USB port, type A) is the port for external pe-
ripherals such as mass storage devices, a mouse or a keyboard. It houses a
passive hub, USB1 (touch screen port) feeds power to the devices con-
nected to it. Verify that the power consumed by all USB stations together
does not exceed the capacity of the PC's USB controller (normally 500 mA).
The maximum length of USB cables (e.g. of the mouse or keyboard) is 1.5
m.

Hot Plug-ready peripherals can be attached to the USB port while the PC is
running. Leave at least 10 seconds between unplugging and re-plugging
USB peripherals.
Please note that many commercially available USB peripherals provide of-
fice-level EMC immunity only.
This is enough for commissioning and service
purposes. Industrial applications, however, demand the use of industry-level
peripherals.
