8.2.2 Reduced or increased ground pressure
Place the machine on flat ground.
The ground pressure is adjusted with the machine
attached to the tractor. Hitch pins should be at
2’ (620 mm) from the ground when using a two-point
hitch, and 13’’-22’’ (330-560 mm) from the ground
when using a drawbar hitch.
To adjust the suspension
Ground pressure is adjusted by turning the
suspension rod bolts on either side of the machine
(1).Use 18 mm wrench included in the toolbox for
adjustments.
From the working position:
- Turn clockwise to reduce the ground pressure.
- Turn counter-clockwise to increase the ground
pressure.
Additional adjustment for GMD
3150/4050TL
The GMD 3150/4050TL has 2 flotation springs on
each side. If ground pressure is still not high
enough, one of the springs on the right side may be
removed to further increase ground pressure.
When one spring has been removed, move
remaining spring to the center hole on connection
bracket.
Make sure spring is moved to the center hole where
it attaches to the machine body as well.
Additional adjustment for GMD 3550TL
If there is too much ground pressure on the GMD
3550TL, a second spring can be added to the right
side.
The mowing unit is suspended by means of
floatation springs .
Before adjusting, maintaining or repairing
the machine, perform the safety shutdown
procedure.
Cutting height must always be adjusted
before adjusting the ground pressure.
