3° FRONT SUPPORT WHEEL

To improve performance when working on uneven ground, can the rakes be fitted with a front support wheel.
This kit includes : - one wheel support assembly
- a top link.
The front wheel support assembly (A) is normally fitted on the rear right-side of the 3-point frame cross tube (T) by
means of 4 hexagonal screws (H) (M 12 x 70) (tighten to 8.5 daNm / 63 ft.lbs) and 4 conical spring washers (dia.
12) so that wheel (R) is located as much as possible in front of ball joint (S). The 3-point frame will therefore swing
back during work (photo 35). Wheel (R) should be approximately in line with ball joint (S) (seen in the direction of
travel).
After assembly, always check the 3-point frame can move freely.
To avoid running over the crop when grouping windrows, the wheel assembly can be positioned sideways by sliding
wheel support (A) along the 3-point frame cross tube (T).
Height of wheel (R) is adjusted by sliding wheel arm (C) inside yoke (G) (photo 36). It is locked in the selected
position by pin (V) (photo 36).
Adjustment is correct when the tines lightly brush the ground at the front when the machine is in the horizontal
position. When adjustment has been completed, secure pin (V) with spring cotter (K) (photo 36).
At work , connect the top link pin (N) to the oblong hole (P) of the top link (Q) and lift the 3-point frame’s lock (U)
to enable the machine to adapt to ground contours guided by the prop wheel (photo 37). On a plane surface the top
link (N) must be placed approximately in the middle of the oblong hole (P) (photo 37).
At transport , connect the top link pin (N) to the fix hole (O) (photo 37) of the top link (Q) and lower the 3-point frame’s
lock (U) (photo 38).
When coupling the 3-point connecting rod (Q), do not forget to place the spacer (Y) (diameter 28 x 36 x 52) on
the hitch pin (N), as shown on figure 39.
