ADJUSTMENTS
ADJUSTING THE CONDITIONING INTENSITY
1) FC 4000 R / 4000 RG
Note : The FC 4000 R / 4000 RG have been designed with two sets of Diamond Block
TM
conditioning rolls.
- Short rolls will allow higher roll pressures to increase conditioning when desired.
- Two sets of rolls independently match uneven crop densities going through the
machine for more uniform conditioning.
The conditioning intensity is determined by the roll pressure. However before adjusting roll
pressure the roll gap should be checked (See diagram below, E).
Recommended gap : 1/8” (3 mm)
If gap is out of adjustment proceed as follows:
Note : Do not attempt to adjust roll gap un-
less there is tension on the rolls.
- Loosen the locknuts (1) on each retaining
rod (2).
- Adjust the roll gap E by turning the nuts (3).
The gap should be set at 1/8" (3 mm). Turn
the rolls one complete revolution and check
that the minimum gap is no less than 1/16".
- Make sure the gap is the same at each end
of the rolls.
- Tighten the locknuts.
Note: For most crop conditions the gap be-
tween the rolls must be set to the minimum.
However, in certain crops with thick stems, or
pods, the gap between the rolls should be in-
creased. This adjustment will also help the rolls
to feed.
