ADJUSTMENTS

FORWARD SPEED

Recommended speed is between 5-8 mph.

The forward speed must be adapted to the crop density and to the ground conditions :

- In very heavy conditions a high forward speed may overload the mower conditioner.

- In light conditions a high forward speed will narrow the windrow.

Note :

If the ground speed must change, shift the tractor gear up or down rather than changing the
tractor engine speed.

WINDROW ADJUSTMENTS

The machines are equipped with two swathing baffles located just behind the conditioning unit.
These baffles will re-direct down half of the crop flow coming out of each set of rolls. The other
half will be directed to the windrow forming shields and will fill the middle of the swath.  This
adjustment will make a 10’ swath.

Notes :

- If the sides of the swath are bunchy, or irregular, the swathing baffles are set too low. Raise

baffles slightly.

- When swathing, to avoid driving on the crop with the tractor’s wheel it is possible to make a

three windrow type swath :

- Lower swath baffles.
- Close windrow forming shields.

- In particularly light conditions the narrowest windrow may not be obtained by completely closing

the windrow forming shields. In this case, opening the windrow forming shields half way may
give better results.
