6.18 RACE-ON key

In this vehicle, the RACE-ON key
1
performs all the functions of
the conventional ignition key.
Press the
2
button to fold out the key bit. The key bit it is
only used for unlocking the seat lock and for opening the cases
(optional).
The black ignition key

is only intended for situations in which
the RACE-ON key is not available or is not functional.
The black ignition key can be used to start the vehicle if the
RACE-ON key battery voltage is too low and the transponder is not
recognized by the vehicle. The black Race-on key can also be used
to unlock the seat lock and open the cases (optional).
Info
The ignition keys contain electronic components. Always
maintain a distance of several centimeters to other devices
with electronic components.
A lost ignition key must be deactivated by an authorized KTM
workshop to prevent unauthorized persons from operating the vehi-
cle.
The ignition keys supplied are activated when delivered.
Up to four ignition keys in total can be activated by an authorized
KTM workshop. The key number must be provided in each case.
6.19 Opening fuel tank filler cap
Danger
Fire hazard Fuel is highly flammable.
The fuel in the fuel tank expands when warm and can escape if overfilled.

Do not fuel the vehicle in the vicinity of open flames or lit cigarettes.

Switch off the engine for refueling.

Make sure that no fuel is spilled; particularly not on hot parts of the vehicle.

If any fuel is spilled, wipe it off immediately.
–
Observe the specifications for refueling.
Warning
Danger of poisoning Fuel is poisonous and a health hazard.

Avoid skin, eye and clothing contact with fuel.
–
Immediately consult a doctor if you swallow fuel.
–
Do not inhale fuel vapors.
–
In case of skin contact, rinse the affected area with plenty of water.

Rinse the eyes thoroughly with water, and consult a doctor in case of fuel contact with the eyes.

Change your clothing in case of fuel spills on them.
–
Keep fuels correctly in a suitable canister, and out of the reach of children.
Note
Environmental hazard Improper handling of fuel is a danger to the environment.

Do not allow fuel to enter the groundwater, the soil, or the sewage system.
