3.3 Stand-off Assembly and
Header Heat Shields
NOTE: If planning to install an optional trim kit assembly, please refer
to section 4.2, OPTIONAL FINISHING TRIM KIT (FTK): #C39-FTK
on page 27 before installing the stand-off assembly and header
heat shields.
The stand-off assembly provides:
• Minimum distance to header
• Contact point for non-combustible material above the fireplace
• Attachment for the header heat shield
3.3.1 Stand-off Assembly, Insulation Piece,
and Header Heat Shields Adjustment
The stand-off assembly, header heat shields, and insulation piece
are adjustable to accommodate the installation of non-combustible
material.
If you install the stand-off assembly in a forward position, the non-
combustible material will overlap the face of the fireplace. If you
install the stand-off assembly further back from the fireplace face, the
typical 1/2” (12mm) non-combustible material will be flush with the
fireplace face. See FIGURE 3.1 below.
