3.8 Vented Cavity
3.8.1 Single Opening Vented Cavity Option
WARNING: Enclosure measurements must maintain minimum framing
specs as outlined in Section 3.7.2.4 Rough-in Wall Enclosure on page
23. Minimum dimensions for the air discharge MUST BE maintained
after all finishing materials are installed.
NOTE: The single opening vented cavity option allows the use of 19
gauge (or less) 1/2” x 1/2” hardware mesh to prevent any items from
entering the vented cavity. This hardware mesh is optional and the
ONLY approved item for use within the air discharge opening.
WARNING: Do NOT cover or place any items in the air discharge
opening area. Grilles and louvers are NOT allowed.
WARNING: Failure to comply with these instructions could create
a fire hazard. Ensure air flow within the air discharge opening is not
restricted in any way
These are minimum dimensions shown for the air discharge
opening, and the opening may be increased, if desired, as long
as all requirements are followed. It is recommended to limit your
opening size for aesthetic purposes and to avoid items falling into the
enclosure.

vent cavity air discharge opening.
