3.7.2.1 Standoff Assembly Installation and
Header Heat Shield Removal
The vented cavity and KZK installations allow for lower clearances to
header. The top standoff assembly must be installed for minimum
distance to header and a contact point for non-combustible material
above the fireplace. The back stand-offs must be installed.
1. Remove and save (4) screws securing the header heat shield on
top of the fireplace.
2. Discard the section piece etched with ‘2’ and the header heat
shield.
3. Using the screw previously removed, install section ‘1’ to the top
of the fireplace as shown in Figure 3.12.
4. Remove and save screws securing the back stand-off brackets.
Form the back stand-off heat shields as shown in
page 13. Secure using screws previously removed.
