Chapter 9:  Maintaining Device Effectiveness 

•

Always use a new Single-Patient-Use 

disposable

 mouthpiece for each

 

test.  Re-use of a mouthpiece can lead to spread of disease and incorrect

 

metabolic rate measurements.

•

Do 

not

  connect the mouthpiece before calibration is complete.

 

Wait 

until the display indicates that the system is waiting for the first

 

breath.

•

Protect the MetaCheck™ from extreme temperatures or moisture that can

 

damage internal components and sensors.

•

Clean the exterior case with a lint-free damp cloth (70% Isopropyl

 

Alcohol).  

Do not use solvents.

•

Do not obstruct free flow of air to vent holes on the on either side of the

 

MetaCheck™.
