3.1 Mode programming
The PIX has a mode programming. Each
mode adjusts by itself the needful parameter
for the actual operating mode. So there is no
need to program single parameters like
dynamic-, torque-, or speed optimized
timing, under voltage cut-off or EMF brake.
To program these functions independent
from the programmed operation mode, use
the KONTRONIK ProgCARD.
3.2 BEC
The use of a 4 cells receiver battery pack is
recommended (see safety information). The
pack is connected in parallel to the ESC into
a free place of the receiver. This raises the
reliability of the receiver due to double
safety. A charging of the battery pack is not
possible - so be sure that it’s fully charged!
3.3 ProgCARD
With the optional KONTRONIK ProgCARD
you can set individual functions like under
voltage cut-off, brake on/off or battery type.
Order #9305.
3.4 Part Load Capability and the active
free wheeling circuit
To optimize the efficiency at part load the
PIX contains a special circuitry, called active
free wheeling circuit. It increases the
efficiency of the ESC at part load and so
reduces the heating. The active free
wheeling circuit can’t be used with very little
load. There it is switched off. This can result
in a little discontinuity of the motor RPM.
The PIX can be operated unlimited in part
load conditions if at full throttle and full load
the battery current not exceeds the PIX
continuous current limit.
3.5 Connectors
With this PIX ESC you’ve bought a high
quality product. To keep it, the use of high
quality connectors (as KONTRONIK silver
connectors #9010) and well soldered
batteries with low resistant are mandatory. If
any questions are left, especially on the
motor current of your actual application
please feel free to contact the KONTRONIK
service.
3.6 Sensorless Commutation
The PIX ESC works without sensors in the
motor. Therefore the commutation of the
motor will be optimized to the application
automatically. But this means also that the
PIX can’t t detect the motor position at zero
RPM. Therefore it is possible that the motor
will oscillate a little bit when started.

4. Connection of the cables
Motor cables
(blue - green - red)
The sequence of the motor cables is
arbitrary. A motor rotation will be reversed by
changing any 2 motor cables (see also mode
programming Mode 7)..
Use only polarized connectors for the
battery cables!
Connecting the battery with
reverse polarity will destroy the ESC. It
contains a polarity sensor, so incorrect
polarity can easily be monitored.
