Warning against misuse
Non-compliance with these warnings and instructions for use may lead to serious accidents and sub-
stantial damage to persons and property!
No liability will be assumed for damages if caused by non-compliance or only partial compliance
with these instructions.
By using these traction chains, you declare that you have fully noted and accepted the warnings as
well as the consequences of their non-observance. In the case of non-observance, you will waive any
claims against manufacturer, importer or distributor.
1. The driving performance and handling characteristics of the motor vehicle may be influenced by
the use of traction chains (see also owner’s manual of the vehicle).
2. Traction chains may only be used if the vehicle and its tyres, including rim, have been approved for
the use of traction chains by the respective manufacturer.
3. Traction chains may only be used for mounting on tyres and driving on suitable ground; they may
not be used for towing, lifting or any other improper purposes.
4. The mounting instructions must be exactly observed in both mounting and removing of the chains.
5. Used chains must be subjected to visual inspection before they are mounted. Do not use the chain
if it is damaged or broken. In particular, do not mount the traction chain if more than half of the
wire thickness has worn off on even the smallest area.
6. For mounting the chains, the vehicle must stand on level ground and be secured as instructed in
the owner’s manual. Always use a pair of chains for each axle.
7. Beware of the weight that traction chains have. Improper handling may lead to injuries.
8. Mount traction chains only on tyre sizes listed on the tyre dimension label on the packaging.
Chains are designed to fit new tyres that comply to the ETRTO standard and are mounted on the
assigned rims. When mounting chains on retreaded tyres, the fitting of the chains on the tyre must
be checked by a qualified professional. Do not use the chains if they do not fit the tyre properly.
Observe the tyre inflation pressure indicated by the vehicle manufacturer. Do not reduce the tyre
inflation pressure before or after mounting as this may cause damage.
9. Before moving the vehicle, check that the traction chains are properly mounted on the tyre.
10. After mounting the traction chain, ensure that no part of the chain touches or hits any part of the
vehicle even when the steering wheel is turned fully on the front axle.
11. After driving a short distance (50-100m or 150-300ft.), stop the vehicle and re-check the tightness
and fit of the traction chain on the tyre. Re-tighten the chain if necessary.
12. Do not spin tyres with chains mounted as this will damage the chains and tyres.
13. Traction chains can be repaired if they are broken. We recommend instructing qualified personnel
to carry out repairs or conversion to other sizes. Only use original spare parts for repairs and con-
version.
14. Snow chains must only be used for driving on snow- or ice-covered roads. Observe the areas allo-
wed for use of traction chains.
15. IMPORTANT! Watch your fingers, hands and hair when mounting or removing the chains to avoid
injuries caused by damping or snapping back when tightening and opening the tightening device.
Maintain a distance as soon as the wheel with the chain mounted starts moving.
16. Check the filling and wear of the traction chains after driving 20 km, after emergency braking or
after having touched the curb and/or similar.
17. On surfaces completely covered with snow, the driving speed with snow chains mounted must not
exceed 50 km/h. Drive slower if the road is partially free of snow.
