NOTICE
• If the oil pressure does not rise even after performing pre-lubrication for 60 seconds, “Po”
flashes on the gear speed display.
In this case, wait for approximately 2 minutes, and then repeat the operation from the step 3.
(If “Po” flashes even after repeating pre-lubrication 3 times, take actions by referring to the fol-
lowing table.)
• When “PE” is flashing on the gear speed display, a trouble occurs in the pre-lubrication func-
tion. As long as “PE” is being displayed, the engine cannot be started. Take actions by referring
to the following table.
Abnormal operation Main causes Remedy
“Po” flashes again on the gear speed
display even after repeating pre-lubri-
cation 3 times.
• Oil pressure switch has a fail-
ure.

Pre-lubrication oil pump has a
failure.

Engine oil filter is blocked.
• Engine oil leaks.

Engine oil level is low.
Perform the setting of Pre-lubrication
Skip Mode by referring to “Pre-lubri-
cation Skip Mode”, and start the en-
gine.
After the engine is started, move the
machine to a safe place and ask your
Komatsu distributor for repair.
“PE” flashes on the gear speed dis-
play and the engine cannot be start-
ed.
• Hydraulic switches are discon-
nected.
•
Motor has a failure.
•
Motor relay has a failure.

If pre-lubrication is not necessary or after pre-lubrication
has been completed, turn the key in the starting switch (4)
to START position (C) and start the engine.
REMARK
If the ambient temperature is low, the engine may not start
even when the key in starting switch (4) is kept at START
position for 20 seconds. If this happens, wait for 2 minutes,
then start again from the beginning.

When the engine starts, release the starting switch (4) key.
The key will return automatically to ON position (B).
REMARK
When the engine is started, the battery voltage may sud-
denly drop depending on the temperature and the battery
condition. If this happens, the display on the machine mon-
itor may momentarily go out, but this does not indicate any
abnormality.
