1.3 Measuring Principle

The staff code was saved in KL-03 as a reference signal. When measuring, the image sensor

will catch the staff image in the sight of view as the signal, then compare it with reference

signal inside. Then it will get the height of sight line and the horizontal distance. Please

up-right the staff vertically. If you lighten the staff, KL-03 can work at night.

1.4 Instrument Setup

Mount the KL-03 on a tripod, leveling and center it precisely will ensure the best

performance for measurement.

1) Set up a tripod

A. Extend the tripod legs to a suitable height, tighten the screws.

B. Keep the center and the occupied point approximately on the same plumb line

C. Step on the tripod to ensure the stability on the ground.

2) Attaching KL-03 on the tripod

Place the instrument carefully on the tripod head and slide the instrument by loosening

the tripod screw.

3) Roughly leveling the instrument by adjust the circular vial
