12. MACHINE TRAIN AL IG NMENT
SHORT EXPLANATION
A machine train is three or more units with rotating shafts connected to each other with couplings, i.e.
driving unit - gearbox - driven unit. With an ordinary shaft alignment system you will have to make an
alignment for each machine and then calculate which one to adjust. A cumbersome task with a
large risk to make errors. AVV-711 laser alignment system makes all the necessary calculations automatically
and give you the option to choose the machine you want as stationary(aka reference) machine.
You should be familiar with
to perform machine train alignment.
PERFORM MACH INE TRAIN ALIGNMENT
To start program select “Train” from main menu and press
Main screen of the program appeared.

Soft foot should be checked and
corrected as for horizontal machine
alignment; do not forget set dimensions in
horizontal machine alignment menu
before call soft foot check
All required(on screen) dimensions
should be properly entered
M-unit must be always secured on the
right machine of the coupling, regardless
of what machine is treated as stationary
To start new train(initially 3 units in train)
