Mechanical speed governor

The governor (with centrifugal weights) is housed inside the crankca-

se and is controlled by a camshaft gear.

To remove speed governor

remove camshaft bell

and speed go-

vernor control gear

Disassembly / Reassembly

Mechanical speed governor operation (standard)

Weights

are moved to the periphery by the centrifugal force and

thus axially shift the washer

and the drive rod

which, by means of

a linkage, move injection pump control lever

The governor springs

placed under tension by the accelerator con-

trol lever

offset the weights

centrifugal force.

Balance between the two forces keeps speed at an almost constant

level in spite of load variations.
