GOVERNOR
The 2 cylinder engines a r e equipped with c e n t r i f u g a l flyweight type mechanical governors which
a r e e x t e r n a l l y mounted a t t h e r e a r of the gear cover and driven off the camshaft gear.
The governors
a r e s e l f - c o n t a i n e d u n i t s except models
t o S e r i a l No. 9224060 which were l u b r i c a t e d through an
e x t e r n a l o i l l i n e which connects the engine l u b r i c a t i o n system t o t h e governor.
G o v e r n o r s a r e a d j u s t e d in the f a c t o r y a n d f u r t h e r a d j u s t m e n t should not b e needed u n l e s s linkage
b e c o m e s l o o s e o r d i s c o n n e c t e d . Always m a k e s u r e linkage b e t w e e n g o v e r n o r and c a r b u r e t o r m o v e s
f r e e l y .

a c o n s t a n t s p e e d s e t t i n g o r a t a v a r i a b l e s p e e d s e t t i n g a s d e t e r m i n e d b y t h e engine a p p l i c a t i o n . Make

Uncover i g n i t i o n t i m i n g s i g h t hole on blower housing and a l s o r e m o v e s i g h t hole plug
l o c a t e d a t t o p of g e a r c o v e r .
2 .
T u r n e n g i n e o v e r until Top Dead C e n t e r ( D C ) m a r k o n flywheel i s c e n t e r e d i n ignition
s i g h t hole.
