6 Troubleshooting
This chapter contains information on analyzing and correcting operating
problems or errors that may occasionally arise during the use of the
Kodak
2400DSV-E Scanner/Printer.
Malfunction procedure
— if the Misfeed/Call Tech Rep Code is displayed, a paper misfeed or
malfunction has occurred in the system. Check the code shown on the Multi-Print Display and perform
the misfeed clearing procedure. If the error persists, contact Kodak.

The projection lamp is burned out.
Replace the lamp. See the procedures in
Chapter 5,
Maintenance
.
If the lamp goes out during the print
cycle, a blank print may be output.
E1
The power to the printer is off.
There is a problem with the connection
of the interface cable to the printer.
Turn on the printer.
Make sure the interface cable is
securely connected.
E2
The upper cover of the printer is not
closed.
Make sure the cover is completely
closed.
PE
The printer is out of paper.
Load some paper into the paper cassette.
See Chapter 4,
Printer Functions.
PC
The scanner is connected to the PC and
ready for scanning.
Press the Start key when ready. This
display blinks when the scanner is in
operation.
Pc
The scanner is not connected to the PC.
Turn on the PC or connect the scanner to
the PC with the interface cable.
Misfeed Clearing procedure
— locate the misfeed using the code and perform the appropriate
clearing procedure.

The wrong size paper has been loaded
in the Paper Feeding Tray.
Two or more sheets of paper are taken
up at the same time.
Load the correct-sized paper in the tray.
Clear the paper jam. See the procedures
in the section “Clearing a misfeed from
the paper feeding tray” later in this
chapter.

A misfeed is near the paper take-up
section.
P2
A misfeed is near the imaging cartridge.
P3
A misfeed is near the fusing unit.
