3 Centering/Fit
key
- when pressed, enables or disables the Centering
and Fit functions. When Auto Masking, Trimming or Masking are set
to Off, Auto Masking will automatically be enabled when Centering is
selected.
Centering
: places a screen image that was
searched using Auto Masking or an image that was
trimmed in the center of the page.
Fit:
enlarges a screen image that was searched
using Auto Masking or an image that was trimmed
to fit the page. The image is enlarged to fit the
paper size. The image displayed on the screen
does not change size. When Masking is selected or
when the scanner is connected to the PC, this
mode cannot be used.
NOTE: When Auto Masking, Trimming or Masking are set to OFF,
Auto Masking will automatically be enabled when Centering is
selected.
4 Masking
―
when pressed, cycles through Off to Auto Masking to
Manual Trimming to Manual Masking to Off.
Off
Indicates no masking or trimming will be done.
Auto Masking
: omits the frame (non-image area)
of a printed film image. Auto Masking is not
applicable with the Masking or Trimming settings.
The previous Centering/Fit setting is applied
whenever On is selected from the Off state.
If Off is selected from the On state, Centering/Fit
is disabled.
NOTE: Auto masking is not applicable with the
Masking or Trimming settings.
Trimming:
when enabled, the image is printed
(scanned) with the non-image area (frame)
automatically masked.
Masking:
prints only the image outside the area
that is defined on the screen.
If Trimming is selected from the Off state, the
previously entered settings for Centering/Fit and
Manual Masking are applied.
From Trimming, when Masking is selected, the
Centering/Fit setting is disabled and the previous
settings for the Masking area are applied.
The Manual Masking is cancelled when Off is
selected from the Masking state.
NOTE: Trimming or Masking are not available
through Auto Masking and cannot be set
when the scanner is connected to the PC.
