4.5 Setting the optical path length of a prepa-
rative flow cell
Depending on type, the path length is factory set to 2 mm, 3 mm, or
10 mm. For the 2 mm flow cells you can remove the spacers on one or
both sides and hence change the path length to 1.25 mm or 0.5 mm.

Flow cell is removed from the detector.

Process
1.
Using the allen screwdriver, loosen the threaded ring

Remove the cover

To shorten the optical path length, remove the spacer

To enlarge the optical path length, put in one or both spacers.

Insert the cover

5.
Using the allen screwdriver, tighten the threaded ring

The optical path length is set.
Mount the flow cell onto the detector.
Eye injury
Eye irritation by UV light. Bundled UV light can escape from the flow
cell or fiber optic cables.
Switch off the detector and disconnect it from the power supply.
