5. Remarks in respect of the determined use
Before starting any work on electrical appliances it must be safeguarded that there are no live
parts in the immediate assembly area of the user. Is this not possible special precaution
measures acc. to EN 50110-1 for working near live parts must be provided.
5.1. Operation of the tool
First you have to select the right dies (Pos.-No 7) for the intended application.
With the EK35/4 disengage the latch (Pos.-No. 4, picture 6+7 Pos. E) and open the crimping
(Pos.-No. 3) head. The dies must be inserted consecutively into the open crimping head until
they engage.
With the EK15/50 and EK15/50G loosen the locking screws and insert the dies. Especially
with the EK15/50 G one has to observe that the large diameters must be crimped close to the
center of rotation, which means deep inside the throat. Then the trigger (Pos.-No. 1) is actuated
until the dies contact each other. Now lock the dies with the locking screws.
Insert cable with connector and then with the EK35/4 close the crimping head with the latch
(Pos.-No. 4).
