For the sake of better understanding, we have listed some relevant terms that are used frequently in this
document.

Function and main components
The chiller consists of the main components compressor, condenser, expansion valve, evaporator, which are
arranged in a circuit (
Figure
2
). Refrigerant circulates in this circuit. In the evaporator, it absorbs heat from
the cold water and emits it in the condenser into the drawn in air.

In addition, diverse pressure and temperature sensors, a control unit, a high-pressure switch, one or more
pumps and one or more fans are also installed for control and operation of the chiller.
