INSTALLING – Clearances

INSTALLATION
CLEARANCES (VENT FREE
APPLICATION ONLY)

Minimum noncombustible material above ﬁre-
place opening must be no less than shown in
the ﬁgures above. Noncombustible materials
(slate, marble, tile, etc.) must be at least 1/2”
thick, if sheet metal is used, you must have a
noncombustible material behind it.

IMPORTANT:

If these minimum clearances

are not possible or if local codes do not permit
vent-free operation, you must operate the
heater with the damper open.
