Issue 2.01

3.1.7 Psion

Option 5 of menu 2 and option 7 of menu 3 requires the use of a Psion Organiser.

The Psion provides upload and download facilities.  To speed up operations the Psion creates
temporary files in RAM when receiving panel data.  After the data is received the procedures
provide the option to permanently store the files in datapacks or rampacks which must be
inserted into the C drive before switching of the Psion.

To use the Psion it must be connected to the DIN socket on the main display board.  The
panel must be switched to the ACCESS mode.  Turn on the Psion by pressing the ON/Clear
key, then press the ON/Clear key to activate the Addressable Site Configuration Program. 
Locate the Cpanel option in its menu, fig 3.1.3

Select the Cpanel option by placing the Psion cursor over the C of Cpanel using the arrow keys.
 The EXE key will now, when operated, cause the Psion to enter this mode.  The psion display
will now indicate as per fig 1.1.6.2.

With reference to the control panel - Select menu 2 option 5 or menu 3 option 7, i.e. Message
Handler or Load/Save Program Data respectively.  On completing required entry the LCD/VFD
display will indicate REFER TO REMOTE COMPUTER, see figs 1.1.6.3 & 1.1.6.4.

In this mode the keypad will be inoperative, but all of the four control switches are still active.
 Operation of any control push-button or selection of the INHIBIT mode will cancel the PSION
operation mode and return the panel to its normal operating status.

The Psion will act as a keypad, alpha keys, numeric keys and the two function keys EXE and
DEL will respond.  The EXE key is equivalent to the keypad ENTER/YES switch and the DEL
is equivalent to the CANCEL/NO push-button.
