SOUNDER CIRCUITS/POWER SUPPLIES

Any cable approved by the current British Standard for "prolonged operation in a fire".
Special attention should be made in selection of conductor size to ensure that a voltage drop does
not prevent the devices operating within their specification even under minimum supply and
maximum load condition.  Consideration should be given for future expansion of the system.

3.

REPEATER PANELS

MICC PVC or UL 2493 or Beldon 9729

Satisfactory operation of the system with other cable types cannot be guaranteed especially when
not wired to the appropriate regulations, i.e. loop wiring run with high voltage (mains and above)
cabling.

1.6

POWER SUPPLY

The 14474/000 power supply is an AC- DC Switch Mode Power Supply, (SMPS), operating
directly off line.  It is designed to operate from a dual input voltage range of 115v rms (nom) or
230v rms (nom).

Selection of the input range shall be by the use of an internal link,  accessible when the unit cover
is removed.  The link shall be a short piece of cable with suitable connectors, to interface with
a PCB mounted header.

The unit will be designed to load share with a compatible unit.
The capture and load share range is to be agreed.

The unit is a "de-populated" version of the 14489/000 unit, and is not provided with the battery
test and monitor facilities.

In general, the unit will be designed to meet the requirements of EN 54-4, Power Supplies, and
where applicable, the requirements of EN 54-2.

APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS/STANDARDS

The following documents and standards form a part of this specification.

The unit shall be designed to meet the requirements of:-

EN 54

European Standard for Automatic Fire Detection
and Alarm Systems, Part 4 Power supply Equipment

EN 54-4 refers to EN 54 parts 1 & 2 and other industry standard specifications, the relevant ones
being listed under their appropriate headings.
