U3042AM20
Theory of Operation

S30 - Source to Ports (4, 7, 11, 15, 19 and 23)

Switch 30 provides control of the Source Output path to PNA-X Port 4 and Test
Set Port 7, 11, 15, 19 and 23. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch
30 routes the RF Source back to the PNA-X Port 4, and the Test Set Source

path to Ports 7, 11, 15, 19 and 23 are terminated.

S40 - Source to Ports (2, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24)

Switch 40 provides control of the Source Output path to PNA-X Port 2 and Test
Set Port 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch
40 routes the RF Source back to the PNA-X Port 2, and the Test Set Source

path to Ports 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24 are terminated.

S11 - Receiver to Ports (1, 5, 9, 13, 17 and 21)

Switch 11 provides control of the Receiver Input path to PNA-X Port 1 and Test
Set Port 5, 9, 13, 17 and 21. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch 11
routes the Port 1 Coupler Arm to the Receiver, and Test Set Ports 5, 9, 13, 17
and 21 Coupler Arm path is terminated.

S21 - Receiver to Ports (3, 6, 10, 14, 18 and 22)

Switch 21 provides control of the Receiver Input path to PNA-X Port 3 and Test

Set Ports 6, 10, 14, 18 and 22. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch
21 routes the Port 3 Coupler Arm to the Receiver, and Test Set Ports 6, 10, 14,
18 and 22 Coupler Arm path is terminated.

S31 - Receiver to Ports (4, 7, 11, 15, 19 and 23)

Switch 31 provides control of the Receiver Input path to PNA-X Port 4 and Test

Set Ports 7, 11, 15, 19 and 23. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch
31 routes the Port 4 Coupler Arm to the Receiver, and Test Set Ports 7, 11, 15,
19 and 23 Coupler Arm path is terminated.

S41 - Receiver to Ports (2, 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24)

Switch 41 provides control of the Receiver Input path to PNA-X Port 2 and Test

Set Port 8, 12, 16, 20 and 24. In the state shown in the block diagram, switch

S16 - Option 129 Ext Noise Source
