8 Leave the rest of the parameters on default. The Multi-Tone & Noise dialog
should appear as in Figure 22 . This creates a 101 tone signal from 78 to 80
GHz after upconversion and filtering. The tone spacing is 20 MHz. The Fc
(carrier frequency) is required during correction (calibration).
IQTools compares the generated IF and RF signal, tone for tone to calculate
the amplitude response of the system. It requires the carrier frequency to read
the correct frequency tone from the spectrum analyzer.
The setting
Spec.An. (Zero Span) sets the spectrum analyzer to use zero span
for each tone frequency during measurement. This method is slower, but also
more accurate. For faster calibration, you can also choose list sweep i.e.
Spec.An. (List Sweep) .
9 Press the Download button. Make sure Apply correction is unchecked. This
should result in an uncorrected spectrum to appear on the spectrum analyzer
as shown in Figure 23 .
