MIDI MODE 1
When in this mode,
Legend Exp
receives data from the Upper MIDI channel and sends it to the Upper and
Lower sections, while a second channel is assigned to the Pedals section. The MIDI notes will be sent to the
appropriate section according to the Split Point between the Upper and Lower sections, also taking into
account the PEDALS TO LOWER function (if active) and its Split Point. The following picture shows how the
notes are distributed.

MIDI MODE 2
When in this mode,
Legend Exp
receives data from three different MIDI channels, divided among the Upper,
Lower and Pedals sections, so that each can then be played on a different device.
It is also possible to play
the Pedals section through the same device assigned to the Lower section by activating the PEDALS TO
LOWER function and its Split Point.
The input notes are sent to the appropriate sections
as illustrated below.

How to play Upper, Lower and Pedals sections with one external keyboard on a single
MIDI channel
1.
Connect the keyboard’s MIDI output to the [IN1] or
[IN2/PEDALS] connector of the
Legend Exp
.
2.
While pressing the [ROTARY] button, push [REVERB]
until the display shows the message "
MdE
".
3.
Press [VALUE +] or [VALUE -] button until the display
shows the message "
Md1
".
4.
Select the same MIDI channel for the Upper section on
the
Legend Exp
(see par. 7.1) and on the external
keyboard.
5.
The Split Point between the Upper
and Lower sections
is set by default on the C3 key. If you want to select a
different key, follow the procedure described in par. 7.2.
6.
If you also want to play the Pedals section, press the
[PEDALS] button until the display shows the message "
tLr
". Press [VALUE +] or [VALUE -] until you see
the message "
LAy
" or "
sPL
"
(see par.5.4).
