RDS is a syst em w hich t ransm it s useful
information (digital data) for FM broadcasts
together w ith the broadcast signal. Tuners and
receivers designed for RDS reception can extract
the information from the broadcast signal for use
w ith various functions such as automatic display
of the station name.

This unit is equipped w ith the follow ing
functions utilizing RDS data:
PTY (Program Type Identification) Search :

The tuner automatically searches for a station w hich is
currently broadcasting a specified program type (genre).
PS (Program Service Name) Display :
(See below.)
When an RDS broadcast is received, the station name is
automatically displayed.
EON (Enhanced Other Netw ork) :
w
When the information to be received is set in advance and
any RDS station in the same netw ork starts broadcasting
of such information, the reception automatically w ill be
sw itched to that station.
The
“RDS” indicator lights up w hen
an RDS broadcast (signal) is received.

Frequency Display :
The frequency of the current station is displayed.
For reception of RDS stations, the RDS auto
presetting function must be used to preset the
stations.
“NO DATA” w ill be flashed w hen a station not
preset by auto presetting is received.
