Standard pulse operation
1 ) Clic k the p ulse card tab .
2 ) Select P u l s e to con f i g ure the Standard p ulse W a v e f or m Typ e .
3 ) Enable C h annel 1 and / or Enable C h annel 2 – A channel must be enabled in order to
p re v ie w its w a v e f orm and turn on its out p ut .
4 ) Con f i g ure tri gg ers f or both channels o f the p ulse card :

T ri gg er So u r c e – So f t w are , E x ternal or Internal Bus : W ith E x ternal selected , select the
tri gg er source : Initial F allin g , Initial Ri s in g , Per P u l s e F allin g or Per P u l s e Ri s in g .
·
O u t pu t Mode – Select the out p ut tri gg er mode : Contin u o us Mode or Bu r s t Mode .
5 ) Con f i g ure the G eneral Settin gs f or both channels o f the p ulse card :

Set the P u l s e Period in seconds .
·
Set the T ri gg er Polarit y : Po s iti v e or Ne g ati v e .
·
Select A pp l y C h an g e s I mm ediatel y to enable automatic u p date f or p ulse out p ut . A f ter
out p uts are turned on ( ste p 9), p ulse out p ut u p dates immediatel y w hen settin g s are
chan g ed .
OR
Clic k the A pp l y Settin g s button to manuall y a pp l y settin g s .
This button is disabled w hen A pp l y Chan g es Immediatel y is enabled .

Clic k in g Re s et All returns the p ulse card to the Standard Pulse w a v e f orm t yp e and its
de f ault settin g s . It also u p dates the p re v ie w er .
6) Con f i g ure the C h annel 1 Settin gs and / or C h annel 2 Settin gs . The Pulse Count f ield is
acti v e i f the Burst M ode is the selected tri gg er mode .
7 ) Optional – D C M ode and Com p lement M ode :

W ith the DC Mode selected , the out p ut w ill be f ixed D C at the Pulse Hi g h le v el .
D isablin g D C M ode returns the out p ut to the p re v iousl y de f ined p ulse .

E nable the Co mp le m ent Mode to set p ulse hi g h to the lo w le v el , and p ulse lo w to
the hi g h le v el .
8 ) To con f i g ure other installed p ulse cards f or Standard Pulse , clic k on the tab f or the desired
p ulse card and re p eat ste p s 1 throu g h 7 .
9 ) Turn on all enabled channels – Clic k the g reen trian g le to turn on enabled channels f or all
p ulse cards installed in the M odel 4 200-SCS .
W ith the out p ut on , the s q uare box w ill turn red . Clic k in g the red box turns o ff the out p uts .
