7 Troubleshooting
Malfunction Cause Remedy
The three-function handpiece or
multifunctional handpiece is not
working properly.
Water pressure or air pressure are
set incorrectly.
▶ Check pressures and correct, if
required.
Shut-off valve for water or com‐
pressed air closed.
▶ Check pressures and correct, if
required.
Nozzle blocked. ▶ Clean the nozzle.
▶ Replace nozzle according to
need.
KL 701 / KL 703 motor handpiece
cannot be started.
Patient simulator/chair-back can‐
not be moved/adjusted.
Air supply broken. ▶ Examine air connection.
Turbine not running. Air supply broken. ▶ Examine air connection.
Suction power of saliva extractor
not adequate.
Spray mist extractor not closed. ▶ Close spray mist extractor.
No voltage supply Main switch is off ▶ Turn on main switch.
No voltage supply Main fuse is blown. ▶ Unplug the unit from the mains.
▶ Change the microfuse T 6.3 H
(Mat. no. 0.223.2783).
The main fuse is next to the
main switch.
Cold light not working Cold light not preselected. ▶ Preselect cold light.
High pressure lamp faulty. ▶ Renew high pressure lamp.
No spray in the instruments No spray preselected. ▶ Preselect spray.
Spray regulating device on instru‐
ments closed.
▶ Open spray regulating control.
Main valve closed. ▶ Open main valve.
Turbine making loud running
noises.
Turbine wheel faulty. ▶ Replace turbine wheels.
▶ Follow turbine instructions.
Spray at instruments works poorly. Water pressure or air pressure are
set incorrectly.
▶ Check pressures and correct, if
required.
Calcified/dirty spray nozzles. ▶ Clean spray nozzles in accord‐
ance with the enclosed instru‐
ment instructions.
