Decoding the Signal Content

SERVICE

 (MPEG services list) in the main menu.

The MPEG decoder is activated. The meter saves the last measurement carried out 
by the user. This means that the MPEG decoder tunes on the last measured chan-
nel (SAT, TER or CATV).

The MPEG services list function allows the user to decode the signal transport 
stream and to visualise the list of included services:

Channel tuning 
parameters

The essential tuning parameters, such as frequency, channel 
bandwidth and modulation standard are displayed.

Services list

Once the signal is locked and demodulated, the decoder 
starts scanning the transport stream to find service informa-
tion tables, containing all the information related to the trans-
port stream structure: number of services, list of PIDs, service 
names, etc. When all this information is available, the meter 
visualises the list of all the available services and displays 
the service type for each of them (
