The Stencil Pro vehicle mount is tilted slightly (between 5 and 10 degrees), which has been
found by Kaarta personnel to provide for more comprehensive point cloud capture and
allow for better upward image capture. To this point, the vehicle mount should be placed
in a position that maximizes the LiDAR coverage. Figure 26 below shows typical mounting
guidelines.
It should be noted that some of the vehicle will be captured in the LiDAR scan and will
need to be eliminated during the Playback process using the
Ignore Points Within
parameter (see the Playback section of the Stencil Pro User Guide for more details).
Elimination of unwanted objects (such as portions of the Stencil Pro vehicle mount or
glimpses of the vehicle roof) in the imagery can be performed by designating
